Hi, I'm most interested in the Celtic Woman women. I've looked at a few of the other forums and didn't feel comfortable with them, but your forum seems friendlier, so here I am.
My musical knowledge is very limited, which seemed intimidating in some of the other forums. As a child, I do not remember any music at all. By my teens, I loved classical, because it was soothing, and western, I don't know why. Now I have a clear 3rd choice - Celtic Woman. It seems to a class unto itself.
In college I had a choice to fulfill my music requirements: a theory class or an instrument. I chose the drums, but my parents overrode that, and I wound up with the violin.
I did some classical work, and wanted to get to western square dancing, but never did. What is relevant here is that I know from 1st hand experience how extremely difficult the violin/fiddle is. What Mairead does would be almost impossible for someone standing still. She doesn't. She runs and jumps, and twirls around, which makes her performances absolutely magical!
