Celtic Woman will perform July 24 at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 22.
To kick off St. Patrick's week, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts announced Sunday morning a performance by Irish music phenomenon Celtic Woman, which will take place July 24.
The all-female quintet will bring its "Songs from the Heart" tour to the Pavilion stage, and the ladies couldn't be more excited.
"To perform on that site will be amazing, absolutely amazing," said fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt. "It's hallowed ground, really. We're very excited about that."
The show will feature renditions of "Amazing Grace," Jimmy Webb's "The Moon's a Harsh Mistress," Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Pie Jesu," Billy Joel's "Goodnight My Angel" and Irish classics "My Lagan Love" and "Galway Bay," as well as "Nil Se'n La."
"It's a completely new set with new costumes, new music with a handful of favorites," Nesbitt said. "There's something for everybody."
The show features four vocalists, a violinist, a choir, band, percussionists and a bagpiper.
"Celtic music is popular the world over, while Sullivan and Orange counties lead the tri-state area in Irish ancestry," said Matt McNeil, senior director of marketing and programming at Bethel Woods.
To catch a glimpse of what you can expect to see at Bethel Woods, tune into "Live with Regis and Kelly" Wednesday on ABC and watch the ladies perform as part of the show's St. Patrick's Day festivities.
Tickets for Celtic Woman go on sale at 10 a.m. March 22 and cost $20-$89.50.
If you can't wait until July to listen to some Celtic music, Great Big Sea will perform at the Events Gallery at Bethel Woods at 8 p.m. April 24. Tickets for that show are $38 in advance and $43 at the door.
